Los Angeles —  Today, St. John’s Community Health announced that to continue reaching Black and Latinx communities in need of the monkeypox (MPX) vaccine, they will expand hours at their clinic on Crenshaw. The Crenshaw clinic will now be open from 5-7:30 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, in addition to continuing to operate on Wednesdays from 9am-5pm.

Additionally, they will administer hundreds of primarily second doses of the MPX vaccine at Redline DTLA on September 17th.

The public health network is also waiting for a shipment of 2,000 COVID-19 booster shots targeting the omicron subvariant. They expect to begin administering this vaccine to people in South, Central, and East Los Angeles as early as Monday.

“Dealing with multiple public health crises at once means we have to be agile – we’re constantly building on what’s working best for the communities we serve, and creating new strategies and infrastructure to ensure we’re making the greatest impact,” said Jim Mangia, president and CEO of St. John’s Community Health.
