Los Angeles — Today, St. John’s Community Health announced that at certain Los Angeles Unified School District and Compton Unified School District vaccination sites, they will be offering blood pressure screenings and enrollments in Medi-Cal and CalFresh during the 15 minute waiting period after the vaccine is administered.
They’re also preparing to scale up testing efforts again in response to the new variant and yet another rise in COVID-19 cases.
“We’ve had an influx of patients without health insurance come to our clinics for COVID-19 related needs – many of whom have never had a primary care provider or the ability to be proactive about their health,” said Jim Mangia, president and CEO of St. John’s Community Health. “After building trust in the community through our testing, vaccination, treatment, and outreach efforts around COVID-19, we’re working to provide even more residents of South and Central LA with a medical home.”
