Los Angeles — Today, St. John’s Community Health reported that monkeypox (MPX) rates continue to be low, with two new cases this week. The clinics are continuing to vaccinate up to 100 people a day, and are continuing strategic planning to reach and educate more people about prevention and vaccination.

They’re continuing to administer up to 200 COVID-19 vaccines per day, many of which are subvariant boosters. Meanwhile, COVID-19 positivity rates remain high, with about 20 percent of those tested – of about 100 per day – receiving a positive result.

“Our current focus is to get as many people as possible into our doors to get their subvariant COVID-19 booster shots, and continuing to reach eligible individuals who have yet to get their MPX vaccine,” said Jim Mangia, president and CEO of St. John’s Community Health. “Dealing with both public health crises is our top priority, as well as continuing to help build a foundational understanding of and access to preventative and proactive health care for the communities we serve.”
