“Maria is a patient at St. John’s who counts on us for help with her depression. St. John’s has supported her with her prescriptions, helped her cope with her mental health issues, and has made it easier for her to see a clinician to deal with various health ailments. As a result, Maria has become an advocate for others to seek the mental health and medical services they need.”

Mental Health and Substance Use Services (Integrated Behavioral Health Services):

  • Mental Health Counseling:
The mental health program at our Los Angeles clinics provides counseling and support related to the social stress of poverty, homelessness, unemployment, and domestic violence. Services include crisis intervention as well as individual, family, and group therapy. Our clinicians provide short term treatment to address mild and moderate symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, trauma, and distress associated with changes in the self, home, and/or community.

  • Psychology:
We provide psychological services for children and adolescents with suspected neurodevelopmental concern within a multidisciplinary setting. Our services include psychological evaluations, parent training, and behavior management treatment for children and adolescents with concerns related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and behavioral issues. We also offer comprehensive services, including consultation and resources for special education services.

  • Psychiatry:
Resolution of mental health concerns often requires a combination of medication and counseling services. Our psychiatric practitioners are available to provide evaluation, treatment and monitoring of psychiatric medication.

  • Substance Use/Recovery:
Treatment is a major step in the journey to recovery; therefore, we aim to ensure that you receive high quality care in a safe and caring environment with the support of a multidisciplinary team. We are dedicated to the recovery and health of the individual, the family, and the community. We embrace a harm reduction model for our patients. Our medical providers also prescribe medications for those who come to us with alcohol use and opiate use disorders and are wanting to sustain recovery. We have a team of therapists, counselors and case managers available to help patients achieve and maintain sobriety goals.
