Los Angeles —  St. John’s Community Health is gearing up for summer school, with plans in the works to station their mobile clinics at different campuses across LA County over the next few months. The mobile clinics will focus on general medicine as part of the public health networks’ continued effort to close health care access gaps, and will also offer COVID-19 vaccines to students and residents of the surrounding community.

This week, St. John’s has distributed approximately 5,000 at-home COVID-19 kits, has continued to administer Paxlovid to those at high risk of severe symptoms, and has been administering about COVID-19 150 vaccines per day.

“We’re continuing to do the long term work of educating the communities we serve about the importance of COVID-19 prevention and management, including through vaccination,” said Jim Mangia, president and CEO of St. John’s Community Health. “While COVID-19 is still a priority issue for our clinics, we are also working to address the myriad barriers to health care our patients are still facing.
