Los Angeles —  Today, St. John’s Community Health announced their clinics have administered nearly 9,000 flu shots already this season, and so far have only seen a few dozen positive cases of the flu.

Additionally, they have seen an uptick in COVID-19 vaccinations to about 150 per day – most of which are bivalent boosters – and a rise in positive COVID-19 cases, though none with severe symptoms.

“We’re encouraging our patients and community members to make sure they have the latest COVID-19 booster and flu shot before gathering with family or traveling for the holidays,” said Jim Mangia, president and CEO of St. John’s Community Health. “This is the most critical time of the year to ensure you’re protecting yourself and your loved ones. The relatively low rates of symptomatic COVID-19 and the flu are signals that vaccines and preventative measures are working, and we must continue to utilize those resources to keep everyone healthy and safe.”
